Our Story
Since 2001 we have been providing high quality childcare in the Newtownabbey area. The Nursery is situated close to Mossley West train station and Mossley Primary School and consists of two buildings:
The Castle: An old farmhouse used by The Babies and The Toddlers (0–2 years)
The Schoolhouse: Purpose-built facilities for The Mini Kids, The Big Kids and The After-school (2–11 years)
It is owned and managed by Catherine Harris (MA, PGCE), a teacher, and she is assisted by Anna Moore (BSc), a paediatric nurse, and Leia Taggart (Level 5).
Choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions you will have to make and in order to help you we would be delighted to show you around The Nursery and answer any questions you might have. We can also arrange for you to speak to current parents if you would find this helpful.
Our emphasis is on the care of each child in a warm, safe and home-like environment and on providing rich learning experiences through play which will enhance your child’s physical, social and emotional development.
Parents can keep track of their child’s day by using ‘Famly’ – an online system that staff use to record each child’s daily activities such as their meals, nappy changes and nap times. The staff are also able to add photographs which parents can access using their unique usernames and passwords.
Limited numbers in each group ensures that each child is given individual attention and that their needs are known and provided for. Our separate cot rooms and sleeping areas mean that each child can follow their own routine and that we can adjust these routines as your child grows.
During our free settling-in period you will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s individual needs with the members of staff who will be working closely with them. Each settling-in period is tailored to suit the needs of the child and parents.
