The Nursery, which opened in February 2001, is situated near Mossley Mill and consists of two houses:
2½ to 11 years
It is owned and managed by Catherine Harris (MA PGCE), a former teacher, and she is assisted by Anna Moore, a Paediatric Nurse and Catherine Pawson (NVQ III).
Choosing childcare is one of the most important decisions you will have to make and in order to help you we would be delighted to show you around The Nursery and answer any questions you might have. If you don’t already know someone using The Nursery it is also possible to arrange for you to speak with some of our parents.
Our emphasis is on the care of each child in a warm and safe environment and on providing rich learning experiences which will enhance their physical, social and emotional development. The different age groups are kept busy with a varied programme of activities and, for the older children, a Curriculum based on the Department of Education’s six areas of learning.
Limited numbers in each group ensure that each child is given individual attention and that their needs are known and provided for.
During our free ‘settling-in period’ you have the opportunity to meet and get to know the staff and to liaise with them in the planning of your child’s care.
Using a system of observations we provide you with regular reports of your child’s activities and development and in continuing to improve our communication with parents, we have introduced a safe and secure computer system ‘MyNurseryPal’.
This system allows parents to log on at any time using their personal password and to view their own child’s ‘Daily Diary’. They can check out what they have had to eat, check their nappy/toileting details and get real time updates including photos, of their fun activities.
The Nursery is fully registered with the Northern Health and Social Care Trust and is regularly inspected by their Social Workers. Health and Safety regulations are strictly adhered to.
