The Mini-Kids (2-3 years)

The Big Kids (3-5 years)

Children move from The Castle to The Schoolhouse after their second birthday, firstly into The Mini Kids and then on into The Big Kids. Both groups share the downstairs of The Schoolhouse and each day they alternate between the two large play rooms.

A full and varied curriculum is used to occupy their inquisitive minds and planning is balanced between child-initiated play and adult-led activities. Independence is promoted and encouraged but we work alongside each individual child at their own unique pace.

There are no imposed age requirements for milestones such as potty training or dropping a daytime nap.

The Big Room:

This is where children’s creative instincts can be nurtured with areas for art, sand and water activities and play-doh. There are lots of construction toys alongside jigsaws and board games as well as a quiet area for reading and relaxing.

The Imagination Room:

This room encourages the children to use their ever-increasing imaginations and to play alongside their friends. The children enjoy dressing up and playing in the home corner, visiting the shop or using the work bench.

There is also an area for small world play with a garage, doll’s house and farm… available at different times.

As the children progress into their pre-school year we encourage them to develop the skills, confidence and independence needed to ease their transition into formal education.

We also provide wrap-round care for Mossley Nursery School on request.

Kids Club (5-11 years)

Our school-aged children use the upstairs of The Schoolhouse where they are welcome from 7.30am. They have breakfast and play with their friends before being safely dropped off at their schools.

After school they are collected and return to The Kids Club for a tasty snack and fun activities. After a busy day at school we want to provide an environment that feels home-like and relaxing as well as fun and sociable.

The children enjoy arts and crafts, playdoh, construction toys, jigsaws, board games and small world play or they can opt to relax and read some books. We also make full use of our large garden, the nearby park and local nature trails.

During school holidays, full-time care is available, if required.

At present we care for children from the following primary schools:

Mossley
Carnmoney

Other schools may be available upon request.
